A copy of the Report of the Clyde Estuary Committee is enclosed.
It is thought that a perusal of this report may be of interest to members of
the committee, as it recommends the unification of the authorities
administering the port and harbour facilities in the Clyde Estuary, by the
creation of a single authority controlling-
(a) Port and harbour provision.
(b) River conservancy.
(c) Lights, buoys and seamari
(a) Pilotage.
In the course of the report the present division of administrative
control is indicated; the contending view of the interested parties
set out, and the general principles which have governed the development of
port administration are enunciated.
As some of the report dealing more particularly with conditions in
the Clyde situary may be of limited interest to members, they may wish to
limit their reading to some of the following paragraphs:
